For the heat of the Atlanta summer, be sure to look to one of these parks for your next outdoor event. Whether a family outing or a child’s birthday party, these choices have you covered.
Lynwood Park
First up on our list is Lynwood Park. Located north of the city and in an affluent area, this park rents picnic areas for $50 per hour. They have multiple sports courts, a pool, and of course, plenty of green space. This park is in the Brookhaven neighborhood.

Atlanta Memorial Park
Also north of town, in Buckhead, is this 200 acre park. This historical park commemorates those who died in a Civil War battle in 1864. There is a paved trail for you to run/walk on. We suggest avoiding this park after a rainfall as there is minimal drainage and it sits at a relatively low elevation.

Freedom Park
Situated east of Midtown and with 200+ acres of space, there are no prices listed so events seem to be free in this park. Most folks head to the grassy hills on the hills east of Moreland Avenue.

Oakhurst Park
This tiny 8 acre park east of downtown offers a picnic pavilion for up to two hours and $100 per hour. They also have multi purpose fields, parking lots, and a playground

Washington Park
To the west of downtown, this 21 acre park offers paved trails and a natatorium. They have a 150 person outdoor pavilion with restrooms and drinking water for $200 per hour.

Besse Branham Park
To the east of downtown is a 7 acre park in the Kirkwood neighborhood. They have a treehouse and baseball/softball fields. There is also a large hill for climbing up and rolling down. $150 each hour for a rental that does not include water, power, or bathrooms seems steep though.

Lang-Carson Park
The smallest park on our list at 3+ acres in Reynoldstown has great access to the Beltline Eastside Trail nearby. Recreation center with basketball and other amenities.

D.H. Stanton Park
Affixed to the Southside Trail that is under construction right now, this park has a pavilion that can house up to 30 people. There is also a spray area for kids in the hot weather to play around in.

Adams Park
The final park is in the southwest of Atlanta and home to 158 acres of outdoor access. It is $200 to rent a pavilion for an hour and there is swimming pool access.
